The Trelawny Stadium was completed in 2007, with a seating capacity of 15,000 persons to host warm-up games and the opening ceremony for the Cricket World Cup in 2007

In 2008, the stadium was used to host World Cup Qualifiers where the Reggae Boyz played against the Bahamian national football team. In the same year, the stadium hosted group matches for the Caribbean Football Cup. In recent years, the Trelawny Multi-Purpose Stadium has been used to host youth camps, Trelawny Food & Music Festival, Bike Fest, and the Jazz & Blues Festival.
